Wednesday Already?

We've had a busy week around here...although you can't tell by this pic can you? :)
Brad is actually doing school--with his entourage! LOL
Muffy, after being very, very sick just before Thanksgiving, is now feeling better
He is observing the snow on the ground from a safe distance
Speaking of which, we're gearing up for some more snow tomorrow! They are saying it could be 6-18"
quite a spread!?

We've been busy working on our Bible study, baking, cleaning, organizing, and making a new budget...
Oh, and dreaming over the seed catalogs and planning our garden! :)
I'm really trying to "live life on purpose"--trying to make my days count!

We're also praying that our van-which died on us last night-isn't too expensive to repair
Feel free to pray with us!
What's going on at your house?
Hope your Wednesday is a blessed one!

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”
- Jeremiah 29:11-13

Fudge Puddles Recipe

A sweet friend of ours made these delicious cookies for the church fellowship dinner on Sunday.
She gave us the recipe, and permission to blog about them--thanks Amy! :)

Fudge Puddles

Ingredients
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
*****************************
1 cup milk chocolate chips
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup pecan halves (optional)
or sprinkles (optional)

Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
Sift together flour, baking soda and salt.
Cream butter, peanut butter and white and brown sugars.
Mix in egg and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Stir the flour mixture into creamed mixture.
Shape the dough into 48 balls, 1 inch each. Place each ball in one compartment of a mini muffin tin.
For filling, put chocolate chips in a double boiler over simmering water. Stir in milk and vanilla, mix well.
Bake for 14 to 16 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven and immediately make wells in the center of each using a melon baller. Cool in pan for 5 minutes. Then carefully remove to wire racks. Using a measuring cup fill each shell with the chocolate mixture. Top with a pecan half or sprinkles if desired.
Okay, I'll walk you through what we did with some of the pics I took.
After we got the cookie dough mixed, we rolled the balls and put in the mini-muffin pans
(we did spray our pans w/oil though it didn't say to)
Here's Bri about to put the first batch in the oven
When they came out we used the melon balled to push down the middles-then after 5 min. we put on wire racks

p.s. Please make sure all brothers are safely occupied elsewhere...we had a thief! :)
Above and; below Bri is filling the cookies with the fudge mixture

YUM!
She did such a good job!
I thought they turned out well--and they taste great!

p.s.p.s. we did have a little hot fudge leftover, and I let the kids eat it over ice cream! :)

Be sure and let me know if you try them!

President's Day Road Trip!

On Monday my honey had off for the day, and he wanted to go to Lancaster, PA...

He said if he would have realized how bad the roads were, he wouldn't have gone...
But Brad handled the drive really well--and as you can see, it didn't bother the buggies any!
(even though it was snowing again)

We stopped at this adorable store...even the name is great! Peaceful Valley

I love this wall art verse!
Bri really liked these pictures
The guys like this gun cabinet
I on the other hand...like this dining room set!
(I think big!)
We made ourselves right at home...
Loved these baskets...they have such an attractive way of setting things up don't they?
Brad likes the quality of their workmanship
I loved this picture!
It says, "Be true to your work, your word, and your friends"
Loved this one too!
Then we went to Cracker Barrel...
Did the gift shop of course!
Aren't these adorable? (I bought 2)
The egg cups were 99 cents!
This plate matches
Mom liked this! (Isn't she cute!?)
Pretty display!
The big platter says "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord"
Brad wishes! LOL
It was a fun day!

Happy Birthday Dickie!

After a week's delay (he got a snowstorm for his birthday!)
we  were finally able to celebrate my sweet brother's 56th B-Day!
Hope he made a good wish! :)
It was a small celebration with just us and his kids, but very nice!
It's always great to catch up on what everyone has been up to!
The dogs enjoyed it too--they got their share of scraps and scratches :)
We picked up Mommom on the way there and were able to enjoy her company as well
Know what she was doing 56 years ago?? :)
(I think that the mothers should get the party--they did all the work!)
These are some of the people at the "Cool Table" - Right Kels?
I think we wore Sky out! :)
Don't let her big yawn fool you--it was a very nice day!

I'm so grateful that God gave me you for a brother!
Happy Birthday :)

Snow Job!

Guess what!? It's snowing again :)   It's only supposed to be about 2" though this time.
That's ok though, we have a fair bit of the white stuff still on the ground...and on the roof as you can
see above and below!

As a matter of fact, Brad shoveled some off the roof, just to be on the safe side...

It sure has been pretty though--don'tcha think so?
Winter Wonderland...
Below Brad is shoveling...something he has done alot of over the last several days!

This little robin is bewildered!
The guys shoveled off and on during the night to try and keep ahead of it...
The first day after...everything is sparkling
This is our street--it looked like this for a couple of days

We had ice during part of the storm, and some melting-this is the result

Chips checks out the snow fort that Brad made :)
In the pictures below you can see the damage the ice did-we lost many tree limbs

We were all happy to see this guy come through to plow us out!
What did we do you ask while the storm raged? We had a ball!
My sweet Mom stayed with us for a week, and we played lots of games, laughed, ate, & stayed up late!
Some caught up on sleep....
Some caught up on reading...
Hope your February is off to a good start!

For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth...
