Fun Fellowship!

Yesterday we were graciously invited to the home of our dear friends for a Valentine get-together. My daughter (in red) and her friends had a glorious sunny day to hike the 45 acre property...they played games...chatted...and laughed, oh, and of course-ATE!
We really enjoyed the time of fellowship--mom's and girls alike!

A Legacy... Mr Bob Schultz

In a day and age of electronics...he took the time to hand write letters of legacy...

In a day of hustle and bustle...he took time to invest in young men...most of them he never met...

In a day of self-centeredness...he was selfless...

In a day of serving self...he served Christ...

In a day of slang language...he spoke eloquently of things of God...

A Blessed Event! Part 1

Our family had the blessing of attending a wedding in Florida last week. The groom is the son of our dear friends Mike & Marci in OH. And we are thrilled that we went!

After the wonderful ceremony, there was a great time of fellowship and celebrating this happy occasion!

Here are Mike and Marci (groom's parents-& this blogger's buddies) being announced and coming into the reception tent. You can tell by their expressions that this is a joyous occasion!

Post-Thanksgiving Thoughts

I hope that your Thanksgiving gathering was a blessed one-full of laughter and new memories!

You know, we never know what the coming days may bring, or who will gather around our table again next year...

Gather as many memories and smiles as you can--and treasure them!

Getting in the Christmas Spirit...

I love Christmas! The name of the Savior on everyone lips...the singing of songs about Him!

And, the fun family memories and traditions!

THE END!

Hope you liked a little "recap" of my blogging over 2008.

It sure flew by didn't it?

I hope your New Year is a blessed one!

Happy 2009!

Think you've got all your gifts ready?....

“What can I give him,

Poor as I am?

If I were a shepherd,

I would bring a lamb;

If I were a wise man,

I would do my part;

Yet what I can I give him—

Give my heart.”

BIG NEWS!

Over at Marci's blog I entered an essay contest and won!

The prize? A fabulous 10-pack of movies from the wonderful Franklin Springs company. Head on over there and check them out if you haven't already--they're also having a special on these movies!
The essay?
Here it is, it was on:
Why I Homeschool...
Thirteen years ago the Lord laid it on our hearts to homeschool our children. At the time, we thought that it would be very beneficial academically for the children. Little did we know, that God had a much bigger plan!
In time, we found that spiritually, this was the best, and biggest step (or should I say leap!) that we had ever taken. Not only did homeschooling our children protect them from ungodly influences and secular teachings, but it opened the door to a whole new world for us to grow! We were able to memorize Scripture, teach history from a godly worldview, and immerse ourselves in learning about heroes of the faith.
Homeschooling also served to draw and knit the hearts of our family together in such a wonderful way! All those afternoons of reading aloud together, working on projects together, and just spending huge amounts of time serving one another, changed us from separate individuals-into a real family. We know that this degree of closeness would not have developed without homeschooling.
What a rich experience this has been for us. Has it been hard? Yes, at times! But how many things with eternal value are easy? Has it been a sacrifice? Yes, at times! But don’t most things of value come through sacrifice? Has it been worth it! YES! Every minute of it has been worth it. We wouldn’t change a thing. It has been a wonderful training ground, for parents and children alike. Priceless!

The Duggar's Sing!

I love this video on you tube of the Duggar's singing! The song is lovely and a real blessing. Hope you get a chance to watch it.

p.s. if you haven't heard of the Duggar's they are a family with 18 lovely children! (AND, they homeschool!)

I think these are the words to the song:
"THE BLESSING SONG"
(Sung to the tune of "Edelweiss")
May the Lord, Mighty God
Bless and keep you forever.
Give you peace, perfect peace
Courage for every endeavor.
Lift up your eyes and seek His face
And His grace unmeasured.
May the Lord, Mighty God
Bless and keep you forever!

I first found this on Marmee's site!

Say CHEESE!

Warning:View with caution...Some images may be frightening to small children!

And, You are about to see more pictures of my family than you might want to!

We decided to take some Christmas pictures of our family for 2008 today...it was a most interesting (and hilarious) experience! LOL

And so, I first present to you: THE BLOOPERS!The pic above looks like Phil is yelling, and I'm crying, and Bri is comforting me! LOL

In reality, I was so cracked up, I couldn't stop laughing! :) I'm trying to pull it together...
Just acting goofy...
I think the above is my fav :)
Brad asked Phil if he was cold--my husband is very expressive! LOL
We were caught smooching between shots...

Needless to say...we weren't ready! LOL

And now...for the Real Deal!

Merry Christmas from Our House To Yours!

This was fun!
