New Friend

Well, Friday the kids and I made a new friend! His name is Liam--isn't he a doll!?
What a lovely way to spend my Friday afternoon! Holding a precious baby, and visiting with his mama too!
Btw, Liam is #7 in his family, this is his big brother Loghan. He's #6, and informed me that he is now not the little one--he's the BIG ONE! :)

It was a lovely visit, and it flew by!

Psalm 127:3Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

Angel Music!

Wednesday night, Bri and I went to hear our dear friend Heidi and her group of harpists do a concert at one of our local libraries.
She is pictured above with her harp. Isn't she lovely? Her music is too!

They did such a lovely job! Their music sounded like what I imagine angel music to be like. :)
They did several Celtic numbers (which Bri and I both love!)
And then, they also did some Patriotic selections as well. It was just beautiful!
Here's the website of the group if you want to check it out.
Great job Heidi!

Then followed that beautiful season... Summer....Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscapeLay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood.~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken. ~James Dent

What is one to say about June, the time of perfect young summer, the fulfillment of the promise of the earlier months, and with as yet no sign to remind one that its fresh young beauty will ever fade. ~Gertrude Jekyll

In summer, the song sings itself. ~William Carlos Williams

A life without love is like a year without summer. ~Swedish Proverb

Please oppose S.909

Please help us get this information into the hands of as many people as possible by forwarding it to your entire e-mail list of family and friends.
Senate poised to vote at any time on "hate crimes" legislation
Punishing wrong beliefs about homosexuality is its sole purpose

The Obama administration has signaled that it plans to secure passage of S.909, the "Hate Crimes" bill, this week. The House has already passed and the Senate is expected to vote this week on legislation that would create a new class of crimes based on the victim's "actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity." Even more troubling is that S.909 could create special protections for pedophiles. Democrats voted down an amendment to the bill that would have excluded pedophilia and other "sexual orientations" from the definition of "sexual orientation."
"If a mother hears that their child has been raped, and she slaps the assailant with her purse, she is now gone after as a hate criminal because this is a protected class," said Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas.

For years, AFA and other pro-family groups have issued warnings about federal Hate Crimes legislation. The reality is that the purpose of this bill is to silence those who speak out against homosexuality. If the legislation passes, pastors could be prosecuted under the federal inducement statute for preaching the biblical view of homosexuality. For example, a person could commit an act of violence against a homosexual individual and blame it on the pastor's sermon. Similar laws have been used to prosecute religious speech in the U.S. at the state level and abroad.
The Senate is poised to pass S. 909, the "Hate Crimes" bill, unless there are an overwhelming number of phone calls today.
Take Action!
Click here to get the direct telephone number for your senators, along with suggested talking points for your call. Call your senators today to demand politely, but firmly, that they vote against S.909. Congress has refused to define the term "sexual orientation," which means that all sexual orientations are protected.
Pastors, it is time to take a stand. Share this information with your members, and ask them to call.

I called my Senators, and it took me no more than 5 minutes to phone and leave a comment at both of their offices.

Please don't be silent! Act today!!

Happy Father's Day Daddy!

My Father is our God in Heaven,
to Him I always pray.
My father is a son of God,
who led me in God's way.
My Father built the world in days,
to Him I owe my all.
My father built my life in years,
lifting should I fall.
Father leads me through dark valleys
to worship everyday.
My father taught me in green pastures,
when my head to lay.
My Father shares the Holy Spirit,
it's how we know His will.
My father knows the Holy Spirit,
he helped my heart to fill.
My Father is the head of families,
throughout the world each day.
My father loves and leads his family,
in ways that words can't say.
My Father is the Father God,
who is the great I AM.
My father is a child of God,
who showed me Christ the Lamb.
~Andrew Gavin Smith

A Reunion of Sorts :) And, a celebration!

My brother-in-law came to visit us from VA last week. It had been about 4 years since we had a chance to sit around a table and visit with him.

It was nice to catch up on what's been happening in his life, and tell him about ours.

He's been staying with my Father-in-law while he's been home.
The second time he came to dinner during this visit, we surprised both of these gentleman with a little birthday party as they both have b-days in the upcoming weeks.

Happy Birthday guys! We love you!

A Little Fuzzy....

This little bunny nest is in our front yard. Can you make out the little ear of one of the babies?

the pictures aren't real clear as I didn't want to disturb them too much. :)

They're totally adorable!

Of course...I do hope the little darlings don't grow up and wipe out my garden. :)

Below is the Mama Bunny. (sorry, this pic isn't great either as it was dusk) Her nest is to the right--just out of this shot.
