The beach however is not actually in Chincoteague, but Assateague Island.
Assateague Island is a 37-mile island between Chincoteague Bay to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east. Coastline is shared by Maryland and Virginia.
The beach is pristine, uncrowded and very lovely.
This first day that we visited, it was very windy--so, we flew Brad's kite.
I know I'm rotten, but this lady on the beach was doing yoga or something, and I couldn't resist snapping this shot! LOL
(Her husband looks like he's trying to figure out what she's doing!? )
And this my friend, is why you don't feed the seagulls!
These people were parked next to us...and when they drove away, the gulls stayed on their car for a long time--even while they were moving! LOL
