This goodie almost too delicious to share. A few pretzels held together with a Hershey’s Kiss and an M&M top off this salty and sweet treat.

St. Patrick's Day Decorating on a Dime

Thought I'd share some of the little things we did to decorate for
St. Patty's. Just to brighten things up a bit.

I found these silk carnations at the Dollar Tree
Also found the vinyl clover stickers there-placed one on this mirrored window

Also got the garland below from Dollar Tree as well.

More Carnations from them below--can you see they even have
a little sparkly clover in them.

I saw these cute glittery clovers, we used a hole punch
and put ribbon that we already had through the hole.
We hung them on the living room valance.

More of the vinyl cling decorations.

A little ribbon around our white taper candles.
Just be careful if you burn the candles that you do not
let the flame get too close and burn the ribbon-it
could start a fire.
Hope you found these ideas fun and helpful!?

We spent $7 on decorations shown :)

Shamrock Pretzel Pops
Photo and recipe credit

1 bag Mini Pretzels
1 bag Plain M&Ms (sorted, get only the green ones)
1 bag Rolo candy
Cake/Cookie Pop Sticks
Pretty Ribbon
Parchment Paper

Shamrock Pretzel Pop Steps - Shamrock Pretzel Pops - Pretzels, Rolo Candy & a Green M&M. SO pretty and festive for a St. Patrick's Day Party!
Step 1: Assemble all your supplies. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a
 cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2: Arrange 3 mini pretzels into the shape of a shamrock, with the bottoms
grouped together. Repeat this step until your cookie sheet is full of pretzel
 shamrocks.
Step 3: Place an unwrapped Rolo candy into the center of each pretzel
shamrock so that the Rolo is touching all three pretzels.
Step 4: Carefully place cookie sheet in oven and bake for 3-5 minute
s or until the caramel gets soft. Remove from oven.
Step 5: Immediately after you remove from oven, do 2 things at once:
 1) Place an M&M on the top of the Rolo and 2) insert pop stick into the
bottom of the Rolo. Press gently down on the Rolo candy,
adjusting the pretzels so that they are still grouped close.
Step 6: Let pops cool completely. You can stick them in the
freezer for a few minutes to speed this process up.
Step 7: Tie a pretty ribbon bow around the pop stick.
*For work or classroom parties: You can wrap the top with a
clear plastic bag first before tying the ribbon around the stick for freshness.

What is it all about anyway?

I'm talking about St. Patrick's Day. The way the world has perverted this day is typical...but there is a real story behind this actual person that lived around 387 AD. Here are some other facts:

  • He was of noble birth

  • At 16 he was carried off by a band of Irish raiders and was made a slave in Ireland

  • Patrick was taken to Antrim where he was sold to a local landowner, Meliuc, who put him to work as a shepherd

  • For six long years Patrick lived upon the Slemish mountain with only his sheep for company before being set free

  • Upon returning home he prepared himself to become a priest

  • In 432, now a Bishop, set out for Ireland as a missionary-he wanted to convert them to Christianity

  • He taught that it was wrong to worship creation rather than the creator

  • Explained the Trinity using a shamrock- with one stem and three leaves, the Trinity is one God in three persons

  • He died on March 17th after a long and fruitful life

THE STORY OF SAINT PATRICK

Saint Patrick was a man of God

who came to Erin’s land

With God’s own love within his heart,

a shamrock in his hand.

He used the three-leafed shamrock

to help the people see

How there could be three persons

in the Holy Trinity.

The God the Irish learned of

today can still be found—

A Truth that’s far more beautiful

than creation all around!
