Photos of Wintery Lancaster

My husband and I took a trip yesterday to Lancaster, PA.
I was surprised at how much more snow they have on the ground than
us! I couldn't resist snapping a few shots :)

Love the Amish snowpeople above :)

This little snow-guy was in an Amish schoolyard...you can see him
in his "natural habitat" below :)

Below you can see the bushes weighed down with ice

There were buzzards everywhere! These guys above...
and a tree full of them below

Giving Thanks for Food Today

Today I am thanking God for my food!
He has provided me with some excellent food sources
for which I am very thankful!

I drive to Lancaster, PA for most of my
"main food".
I can get farm fresh eggs, raw milk, pastured beef,
pork, turkey, and chicken there.
I also have a little bulk food store that I can buy things
as well...like honey, and spices.
I always liked to eat wholesome foods, but it has become
especially important since I had cancer and digestive
issues.
And so, I am very thankful for the sweet Amish farmers that
God has led me to!

Another May Fav...

One thing we really look forward to in May is our annual trip to the Amish nurseries for
our garden plants!
Lots of neat scenery to and from...a fun trip1

Interesting face :)

I thought these chickens were pretty!

I love, love, love houses like this! (Oh, that porch!)

Gotta love Amish laundry on the line :)

This nursery is stuffed with plants! This is only
one of the greenhouses...

Choices...choices!
And, their prices are so GREAT!

I got some of these!

Met a new friend!
My fav kind of dog--Cavalier King Charles!
We've had 3 of the colors--never had this one though, Black and Tan.
I think her name was Suki. She was a dorable! I want one!

How about this cool planting system?
Self-Watering

Every year we like seeing the phlox on this bank!
Looks like they lost some of it since last year though. :(

Happy to make this trip every year--glad Bri went with us this year too. :)

Most of our stuff is planted, but not all.
It's too hot to plant right now.
How about you? Is your garden in?
Do you have veggies or flowers, or both?

Daddy's Day Off

My dear husband had off on Friday, and he chose to take us all to Lancaster for the day.
(It's one of his favorite places to go)
We did some different things this time than we usually do...we spent the day at Kitchen Kettle Village.
We really enjoyed the Christmas shoppe, it had a "Nativity Room"

The kids enjoyed the advent calendars

Lovely Christmas trees...

Lots of beautiful Nativity scenes
(i really like the one above!)

This gorgeous old Swiss clock works! It is from the 1800's

Saw this old Ford while we were walking to a shop

This looks like our Chippy :)

It was a rainy day, but we managed a few snapshots

Loved this set up with the herbs inside!

How about this little Chihuahua with her tutu? lol

This was on one of the shops--I couldn't resist snapping it since it's our initial :0)

they had a Polish band playing Eidelweiss and other tunes...

It was raining or threatening rain off and on, but it didn't stop us from having
a lovely day!
