Day Trip

Thanks to the generosity of our friends...Bri and I have had the opportunity to go to several field trips in the last few weeks! Our friends had a stack of free tickets that they weren't able to use, and they passed them along to us! (Thanks Weston's!)
We took one of the trips today to Tyler's Arboretum

It is a 650 acre arboretum located in Media, PA
Here are some pictures we took of the flora and fauna...

Lilacs are my fav! The one below was actually BLUE!

Look how fragile and delicate these flower were...

So lush and green!

Rhododendren

This tree is a Cedar of Lebanon...it was huge!
Bri looks so tiny next to it!

That wire you see just under Bri's elbow is a lightening rod to try and protect the tree

The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
 Ps. 92:12

It had these pine cone like things growing on it...

Other interesting sites...

The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;  Song of Sol. 2:12
All of these pics are unedited and even uncropped
The picture below is truly that green--it was beautiful

As you can see on the sign, this tree downed by a hurricane in 1954, and hasn't yet decayed!
The Osage Indians used the wood alot because it doesn't decay.

Instead of Earth Day--we celebrate Creator Day! Everyday! :)

And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food;  Gen.2:9
