ROAD TRIP

Well, my dh let us girls loose on a road trip! My dear daughter (otherwise known as the graduate) with her artistic bent-loves old houses and architecture. And so, she wanted to spend the day just taking pictures of different unique, mostly old, houses.

We did alot of crazy driving...risked our lives in traffic, and also put ourselves at risk for dog attacks, shotgun blasts etc... But we had a blast.

I am posting only a couple of the hundred or so shots she took! :0)

Two that I thought were really neat! The cottage above, and the neat wall below. See your dream house among these?? :0)

We made some new friends as you can see above and below!
It was a very special day....spent with my very special daughter! We plan to do this again SOON!

Our Maddie

Well, for those of you who had read my earlier post sharing that our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Maddie has Mitral Valve issues with her heart...I just wanted to post an update letting you know that she is doing well on the meds.

We are concerned though as the temps here are supposed to be in the upper 90's, and that is very dangerous for her....

But we are happy to report that she is doing well as you can see from the pics--taken a few days ago. :0)

THE END :0)

Strawberry Season!

Well, we have been enjoying the little crop of strawberries from the small patch in our yard. This is our 2nd picking, and we have had 2 more a little smaller than the one above.
(I took my watch off and put in the picture to give you an idea of the size and quantity)
This is one of my favorite times of the year--I love strawberries! YUM!

There's a Leopard in the House!! Or...Am I Seeing Spots!

A Leopard Gecko that is!

I have the unique privilege of living with a daughter that loves all of God's creatures. Yes, I do mean all. Creepy or not! LOL Insects, tadpoles, snakes, salamanders, fish, spiders....you name it! (And she wants to have all of them live in the house!)

And so, this fella shown above (whose name is Frodo) has his own space in our little house. He has been with us about 3 years I guess. He's quiet (read:doesn't sass ya or keep you awake at night!), moves slow (read:I can out-run it!), and I don't have to feed it (read: eats things that are alive--ewwwwwww) my daughter does! (feeds it I mean--not eats live things) :0)

Oh, and he's friendly and doesn't bite--another bonus!

My daughter took these pictures, and I thought they came out quite well, so I thought I'd introduce you to one of her menagerie!

(Doesn't he look like he's smiling in the pic above!?)

She did it!

Bri's sweet friend Bethany playing her harp for the graduation--she did a wonderful job!

She is pictured above listening to the charge being given to her.

This is Bri with our Pastor and his wife (our illustrious piano teacher/player!) in front of the chalk art Bri did for her graduation while the Pastor preached.

Bri and some of her friends after the ceremony.

Let there be cake! Yum!

We decorated the fellowship hall in her favorite colors...

We put up a board with her artwork, a few awards, and a guest book & autograph puppy to sign.

Bri and some more buddies...

Bri, my mom and I....three (exhausted!) generations.

The whole family...sharing in her joy!

(the real us) THE END! LOL

(now I have 3 years to recuperate before the next one!)

I haven't been able to post for a long time due to all of the prep, and clean up of this special event. Oh, and the recovery time needed! LOL

Freedom in Christ Academy (alias our homeschool) produced it's first graduate this month! My daughter finally had her big day. :0)
Here she is above with her dad and I - he is reading and presenting her diploma. :0)
