Unexpected Vacation

Our family had the blessing of a last minute unexpected vacation to
Ocean City Maryland last week.
During it we celebrated my birthday, and Phil and I's 27th anniversary!
Here are some pics from our lovely time away...

A Different Kind of Movie Night...

Two firsts for me yesterday....went to Dewey Beach for the first time...
and watched a movie on the beach for the first time....

Bri went with me and loved it!

Of course we checked out the ocean while waiting for it to get dark

These two little girls loved screaming and jumping in the waves ;)

A whole lot of people showed up for the movie Frozen

Beautiful isn't it?
The weather was just gorgeous!
We needed jackets after the sun went down.

Thankful for God's Awesome Ocean!

The ocean is topping my thankfulness list today!
And, I'm not the only one who thinks the ocean is special...

...And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
Gen. 1:10

You can see by the picture above how much power there is in a wave,
it seems beyond what anyone can control....but, not God.

He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
Psalm 107:29

It is amazing to me that God created this beauty, and
can control it...He is amazing!

And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?
Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.
Matt. 8:26

And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea,
Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
Mark 4:39

My whole family just loves the ocean.
I love the peacefulness I feel there, the rhythm of the waves,
the smell of the salt air, the spray of the waves, the cry of the sea gulls.
I wish I lived along the ocean!

It brings me great peace knowing that God created this lovely
haven. And, that when the storms come, both in nature,
and in our lives. He can calm them, and see us through them.

Thank you Lord for the ocean, and the many happy memories
my family has enjoyed along it's shore.

Beach Road Trip!

Last week I was blessed with the opportunity to spend a few days with my mom down at the beach. We both just love the beach, and were so happy to go!
The hotel mom booked was at the end of the Rehoboth boardwalk. It was great, we
could walk right out of the hotel and right on the boardwalk!
Below is the view from our balcony. We left the patio doors open at night
and slept to the sound of the surf!

Below is a pic of the hotel from the beach.

We found this great restaurant - "Big Fish" that caters to
gluten-free diners. Yum!

It rained the first couple of days we were there, but, we didn't let that stop us!
We went around to all the thrift stores in the area and shopped--fun!

Our last day was gorgeous-here is my mom sitting on the beach just relaxing.

Not a lot of people on the beach, but the seagulls kept us company :)

If you look closely at the pic below, you can see on the left a dark spot--a dolphin!
There were lots of them swimming back and forth for hours--we loved it!

I treasure the sweet memories I made there with my mom.
Time is fleeting and short, and you never know what tomorrow holds.
I'm glad we had our "get away"--just laughing, shopping, playing cards...
it was a precious and special time.
