Spring...Glorious Spring!

There's nothing like Spring at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA
And, thanks to our sweet friends who had free tickets to share with us...
Bri and I had a fine day there last week!
God's creation shone with His glory in every inch of that place!

It was truly a feast for our eyes :)

The color combinations are perfect aren't they?

My lovely daughter

Dazzling!
All of these pictures in this post are mine, but, Bri took her own
They are much better I'm sure (I haven't seen them yet)
Maybe she'll let me share some in another post

This gigantic frog was about 10" long! He must be a bullfrog
We were far away from him, so it's hard to tell how huge he was.

Aren't these so sweet!?

We had a glorious day!

I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, and the pine, and the box tree together:
That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.     Isaiah 41:19-20

Day Trip

Thanks to the generosity of our friends...Bri and I have had the opportunity to go to several field trips in the last few weeks! Our friends had a stack of free tickets that they weren't able to use, and they passed them along to us! (Thanks Weston's!)
We took one of the trips today to Tyler's Arboretum

It is a 650 acre arboretum located in Media, PA
Here are some pictures we took of the flora and fauna...

Lilacs are my fav! The one below was actually BLUE!

Look how fragile and delicate these flower were...

So lush and green!

Rhododendren

This tree is a Cedar of Lebanon...it was huge!
Bri looks so tiny next to it!

That wire you see just under Bri's elbow is a lightening rod to try and protect the tree

The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
 Ps. 92:12

It had these pine cone like things growing on it...

Other interesting sites...

The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;  Song of Sol. 2:12
All of these pics are unedited and even uncropped
The picture below is truly that green--it was beautiful

As you can see on the sign, this tree downed by a hurricane in 1954, and hasn't yet decayed!
The Osage Indians used the wood alot because it doesn't decay.

Instead of Earth Day--we celebrate Creator Day! Everyday! :)

And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food;  Gen.2:9

More about our A MAZING September!

My play on words in the title is...we went on a spur of the moment field trip
to Cherry Crest Corn Maze last week with some friends!
First thing we saw was this adorable topiary pony of flowers!

He was "pulling" this covered wagon
Here are our friends posing with the pony :)

Here they are getting ready to do some serious mazing lol

This is what we were up against...see the picture in the maze?
The upper right corner is the guy with binoculars...stars above his head...on the left-a wolf howls
bottom left the campfire
We did make some fun stops inside the maze
Bri exits "the cave" (does she look like a growling bear?)
Brad...your legs have shrunk!
The Conquerors
On to the finish...
Here they are finding a clue
This was our view from the bridge...a sea of maize!
And then finally...we made it!
We triumphed here on Victory Bridge having completed the maze and all the clues!
We stopped to eat our lunch...when this train chugged by
Snapped this shot w/the tractor...
And then, on to the petting zoo!
Holding baby chicks is so fun

Which end of this thing do you milk anyway? lol
We were amazed at this smart llama!
Here he eyes the petting zoo food dispenser...
Next thing you know...he's turning the knob!
THEN, he lifts the dispenser to check for any "leftovers" lol
Our Critters
I'm not sure we claim this 'un
Cute gift shop!

What a fun day spent with friends!
