Wonderful Fellowship!

Over the weekend we went to visit our friends in upstate Pennsylvania, a little over 3 hours away. We knew them from here in DE, but the husband of this family is a Pastor, and he is the shepherd of a flock in PA. So, Brad and Bri were invited to go there and do a chalk art in their new church, and we went up a day early so that we could also visit with them (we miss them!!).
This church is blessed to be right next to the lovely lake pictured above! And, our friends are blessed to live in the parsonage next door, and we were blessed to visit with them and enjoy it all!

We were blessed with a gorgeous day! So the kids were able to do a little fishing...Emily caught some too!

They also got to go out into the lake! (Even the big kids!) LOL
There is something about being by the water that is so relaxing and peaceful. :)
Bri took this great shot above of the boat and reflection. You can see below that she was doing what she likes best!

Even Ozzie got in on the fun!

The next day we went to church. What a lovely day spent with fellow believers hearing the Word of God preached...one thing I found particularly amazing about the services, was that there were 3 services, three different speakers (who had not consulted with one another about their messages) and yet they all held the same heart message for us. It was truly a God thing!

Emily blessed us with some music, via piano, flute, and singing... (sorry it's a dark photo!)

At the end of the day, the kids did the chalk art. Bri does the drawing, Brad delivers the message.

The eagle you see is only visible when the black light is on, and is not revealed to the congregation until the rest of the picture is finished, and the preaching is completed. (You can tell by the first picture what it looks like while she is drawing.)

The snapshots below were taken after church, just before we hopped in the car to drive home.

See what these poor sisters put up with from their brothers!?

We thank the Lord for the time that He gave us together!

What's for Supper?

The night that I took these photographs, we had chicken stir-fry, ginger-molasses cookies and bread.

The Chicken Stir Fry is one of my "made up" recipes. I just sauteed boneless skinless chicken breast (that was cut into 1" pieces) in olive oil w/garlic and onion in my big electric frypan. Then after the chicken was no longer pink inside, I added a bag of stir fry frozen veggies that had peas in the pod, carrots and mushrooms, I also added one of my bags of frozen mixed squash (yellow and zucchini), and threw in some leftover bowtie noodles from Monday's dinner. I seasoned with salt, pepper, Herbamare, and Bragg's amino acid (basically a healthy version of soy sauce).

It was ready in about 20 min. :)

More about our DC on a Dime Trip

It happened just as we were crossing the street...a whole herd of mounted Police came by! We couldn't miss the photo op!
Quite impressive we thought!

And then they rode off into the sunset...

Off we went on our way to see the Jefferson Memorial...we thought it was lovely....the Tidal Basin, the Cherry Blossoms, paddle boats, the blue sky...Oh, and remember I told you that we had 1,000 shots of the Washington Monument? Ditto here!

Loved seeing these historical monuments with the name of GOD on them! My fav part of the trip!

I'll save the rest for a later post. :)

Resurrection Sunday

I hope that you enjoyed a wonderful Easter Sunday! We did too. We began the morning with the traditional Easter basket etc... Then, after church we had some family and friends in for dinner. It was a delightful day! Here are some photographs of the day.

My son made this cross and sign for the front yard.

He is Risen!
He is Risen Indeed!
