We Miss Her Still

It has been a year this week that we lost our dear little Maddie.

We miss her still!

Farewell to an Old, Dear, and Faithful Friend MADDIE

Our family had to make the very difficult decision to put our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Maddie down this morning. She was suffering from Mitral Valve Disorder.

Maddie was 9 years old, and was the best of the best. She was dear to us, and will be greatly missed!

Our Maddie

Well, for those of you who had read my earlier post sharing that our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Maddie has Mitral Valve issues with her heart...I just wanted to post an update letting you know that she is doing well on the meds.

We are concerned though as the temps here are supposed to be in the upper 90's, and that is very dangerous for her....

But we are happy to report that she is doing well as you can see from the pics--taken a few days ago. :0)

THE END :0)

We certainly had a scare last night! Our beloved dog Maddie (alias the spoiled one) was running around the backyard (excited because I came home!) and collapsed.
Maddie is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and they have problem with Mitral Valve Disease. Hers has progressed, and she collapsed last night, flailing and gasping for breath.
We know her time is limited, and it makes us so, so, sad.
But oh the many happy memories, and happy hours we have spent with this loveable, loyal companion! She has been a great joy to us, and we hope that she doesn't suffer with this. That when the time comes, she will just pass quietly in her sleep.
She has been the best of the best! Here are some pictures of her for those of you who haven't had the pleasure of knowing her. I hope some of her sparkling personality peeks out of these pictures and you can glimpse a bit of her spirit!

may she have many happy days ahead of her yet!
