Post-Election

I haven't posted much about the election since November 4. To say that I was bitterly disappointed would be such a gross understatement that I shan't say it.

I will say that I have had to come to grips with reality-such as it is. I have had to get on my knees, and my face before Almighty God, and pour out my fears and lack of faith to Him.

I have been discouraged and disheartened...

I truly do not think that America knows what they have unleashed...I don't think they know that this country's values will never be the same...

But, God is greater than circumstances!

I've had to bury my nose in my Bible--and ask myself hard questions...do I trust God?

Do I have real faith in Him?

Are the roots of my faith deep enough to survive what persecution is surely coming?

Psalm 18:2The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Psalm 18:31For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God?

Psalm 62:7In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

Matthew 19:26But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Mark 9:23Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

Mark 10:27And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

I have to say, that the place I have come to is this....that I cling to the Rock, and ask Him to help me endure that which will come.

He never says that the Way will be easy. He never says our lives will be without persecution...But, I either trust and follow Him, or I don't.

I try to meditate on this verse:
1 Corinthians 15:58
58Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

(A friend of ours has put this verse to music, and I sing it daily!)

This is where the rubber meets the road:

God is in control!

Romans 13: 1 ...For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

God has spoken, and He has allowed this...whether it be for judgement, or whether He will turn the heart of a president...

Upcoming Election...

Well, I have to say that I have heard many people who are very concerned, and even afraid about Tuesday's results. I too have been flustered hearing that this evil man is in the lead and projected to win... and, I know that if he gets it--it is judgement on our country (which we deserve).

The only thing I can cling to is that God is in control. And, I must rest in Him.

In the Old Testament, God turns the heart of the king to do His will....

8And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with an high hand. Exodus 14:8

30But Sihon king of Heshbon would not let us pass by him: for the LORD thy God hardened his spirit, and made his heart obstinate, that he might deliver him into thy hand, as appeareth this day. Deut. 2:30

1The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will. Prov. 21:1

You know, God has given our country instructions on how to get Him to help our country...

2 Chronicles 7:14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

But, we haven't done this, and cannot expect Him to help us. If He does deliver us, it is just His mercy and grace !
My words of wisdom concerning this? PRAY!!!!!!!!!!

That's what I'm doing. And, VOTE!

My son made this sign to put in our front yard...good advice!

NObama!

The following is an article by Voddie Baucham click on his name to read the rest! Don't miss it!

As I have noted a number of times, I simply cannot comprehend why Christians (of any color) can support Barack Obama. As Robert George of Princeton University noted recently, “Barack Obama is the most extreme pro-abortion candidate ever to seek the office of President of the United States.” In fact, George didn’t stop there. He went on to say: “[Obama] is the most extreme pro-abortion member of the United States Senate. Indeed, he is the most extreme pro-abortion legislator ever to serve in either house of the United States Congress.”

Sadly, despite these facts, George observes that “there are Catholics and Evangelicals -even self-identified pro-life Catholics and Evangelicals- who aggressively promote Obama's candidacy and even declare him the preferred candidate from the pro-life point of view.” George’s piece is clear, passionate, well-written, and spot-on. He even makes the link between abortion and slavery that so few people are willing to acknowledge.
