Fellowship

Recently our "Wise Guys" group at church hosted a bonfire.

Such a nice evening of fellowship, singing, and playing games

It was a beautiful evening, and everyone really enjoyed it

There was a pumpkin contest--the one above one 1st ;)

I was really touched by this pumpkin, above is the back...
on it are all of the names of the ones at church who are cancer survivors
My name is on the right in the middle

This is the front of the pumpkin

I'm thankful for fellowship and friends
I made a new friend or two that night--always a blessing! :)

Changes and Challenges

This month has been a challenging one for our family...
My mother's cousin passed away and we travelled to Sparta, NC for the funeral...
my mother in law became ill and passed away and we had a funeral...
a dear friend got married and we joyfully attended the wedding...
we had the privilege of joining our church...
lots of huge life events this month.
Here are some pics to commemorate them.
My great Aunt Maude

My mom and some sweet friends in NC

My dear "Aunt Poodle" whose husband had passed away
we'll miss "Uncle Frank"

young friend

I can't tell you how much we appreciate the cards, calls,
visits, emails, & food from loved ones!

The same day as the funeral we attended the wedding of this sweet couple!
It was a very God-honoring service and we were blessed to be there!

Bri caught the bouquet! :)

A few years ago our neighbors/friends moved away...and their
sons came back to visit us--what a welcome surprise!
They turned out to be handsome young men!

We joined our church--and are happy to be there!
We look forward to serving the Lord with the wonderful people there.

Life is full of changes and challenges.
I don't know how we would manage without God.
I am so thankful that He comforts and cares for us through
His people.

Wow, it sure has been busy around here!
Last week was VBS week at our church, and Phil & I had the 4 & 5 year old class...
it kept us hopping!
We decorated our room for the "Investigation Destination" theme of the week

We were looking for clues to find the True King
One of my new friends was helping me out by dressing like a king :)
We had lesson time, snack time, games and crafts

The children we had were just adorable, and they were so smart!
They really learned and knew a lot!

And, they were so funny! I laughed all week!
Our Pastor's wife was sneaking to wear Spy Guy's glasses...

Spy Guy was a big hit with the children!

My daughter had the opportunity to do a chalk art for the kids,
our Pastor did the preaching.
Brad came and help us out, the kids loved him!
The pretty lady in the blue was also helping us in our class,
it was great to work with her and get to know her better :)

Especially the little girls! ;)

What a privilege to teach children about Jesus!
I am still praying for the children in my class, that they will
grow up to follow the Lord.

But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
Matt. 19:14

Longing...

I just love this picture--wish I had a church like this right around the corner from home!

But, alas, we don't!
I miss church! I haven't been able to go to our church for many weeks...
Between car issues
(at one point, we had 3 vehicles out there--and all of them had the check engine light on!)
also, tire issues etc...
And then of course, there is my unpredictable digestive issues that have
kept me home from church--and other things as well.

We did have the opportunity to visit our former church (which is closer) and fellowship with those sweet friends a few times - which I really enjoyed!

But, my heart longs to live in an area that has a good, family-integrated,  Bible-believing and preaching, solid
church with like-minded believers. (That we don't have to drive almost an hour to!)
I really miss the fellowship. And, when you witness to people, it would be nice to be able to ask them
to church with you--not many will drive almost 2 hrs every week...

That is on my prayer request list, and has been for a while.
But, for now, God has us here, and we are driving when we can to our little church in a neighboring state.

One thing I'm really glad of, that God is with me, no matter where I am!
He will never leave me, and walks with me all the day long!
I can fellowship with him throughout the day, and night too!

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Romans 8:38-39

October "Catch Up"

We've had such a busy October so far!
I thought I'd post a few of the "highlights" here and touch base with you!
We had the opportunity to go to Sight & Sound

We saw "Joseph" which was wonderfully done,
and had a very inspiring message!

The theatre is lovely!

Bri and Brad before the production began

We ran into some dear friends while there!
(some of our church friends that attended aren't pictured here...we didn't catch up w/them until later)
Beautiful sunset outside after the show

The next day we left for a camping trip with our church at beautiful Lums Pond
we broke in our new roomy tent!
Everyone seemed to enjoy the fishing!

There were dog agility trials over at the other side of  Lum's Pond--so,
we popped over for a little bit to watch

 Fun playing games

 And riding bikes!

MMmmmmmm S'Mores

We ate sooo good on this trip! Yum!

The last morning we had the blessing of having church at the campground
One of our families who couldn't camp, made the trip for church and
all the young people are pictured here

"Church pews" for the day
Pastor Kirk doing an object lesson
We had a wonderful time of fellowship on our camping trip!

We're having a great October...hope you are too!
