Health Update

Hi all,
I just wanted to update you prayer warriors on my appointment at the Gastro specialist today.

He was impressed with my recovery so far from the surgery--and my blood counts too.
He said I don't have the classic symptoms for either colitis or crohn's and he will need to do more testing to figure out what's going on.
So, I go next Thurs. the 8th for an MRI (please pray for me! I'm claustrophobic!). Then, I have to go on
the 27th and get ANOTHER colonoscopy and the scope down my throat to check my stomach and intestines...
he said that those tests should tell us everything we need to know to figure out what's going on...
I sure hope so!  so....here I go again!

I'll keep you posted, and I thank you so much for your prayers!

Update

photo credit: my lovely daughter Briana

I have to admit it...I've got spring fever! :)
We had a few sunny, springlike days here, and I'm hooked!
I'm not the only one either, my sister in law said she "just wanted to get outside and plant something"
My feelings exactly!

Well, I thought I'd give you a little update on my health progress for those of
you who are kind enough to pray for me!

I went to my surgeon yesterday, and he said the biopsy from my colonoscopy was inconclusive.
(why am I suprised!?)
He said that I could have colitis, or crohn's disease and recommended I see a gastro guy--
he had a big smile when I told him I have an appt for Wed.  - one step ahead of him! lol
I'll let you know what happens after I see the specialist.
I imagine he will send me for some type of scope...
I really want to thank you so much for your prayers, what a blessing they are!
Thank you also for your endurance-it seems like I've been asking you to
pray for a looong time!
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

So Excited!

The item above-a zojirushi bread machine-has been on my wish list for at least
5+years!
But alas, it was out of my price range! :(

I have had several other one paddle breadmakers-but, I wear out the paddles...
that's why I wanted this one-it is more powerful and has 2 paddles!

Guess what!? I found a lady on craigslist selling one of these for a great price-and,
I had Christmas $$ from my Mom!
So...this is now mine!
I have used it several times already and LOVE IT!
It was worth waiting for!

God has been so good to me-He so often gives me the desires of my heart!
Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Fun little recipe

We tried these mini pizza bites the other night--they were so yummy!

  • basically you just take a tube of refrigerated biscuit dough, & cut each biscuit into 4 pieces.
  • Roll them into balls, then roll out w/rolling pin on floured surface
  •  and insert in greased mini-muffin pans.
  • (ours made 32)
  • place a piece of pepperoni in the bottom of each cup
  • spoon a little sauce on top of that
  • sprinkle with parmesan cheese
  • top with shredded cheese
  • bake at 375 for about 10 min
We did make some plain-skipping the pepperoni step.
You could also use canadian bacon, sausage etc... in place of the pepperoni.
Enjoy!
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. Ps. 100:4

We have been praying fervently for our friend Kevin (shown here on right) who is battling leukemia.
Yesterday, God showed Himself mighty by allowing a successful bone marrow transplant that Kevin
received from his older brother Daniel (shown on left).

We are still asking everyone to pray for the details following the transplant.
  • That all the leukemia cells are dead
  • That no infection will set in
  • That he won't have a relapse
  • That the bone marrow will take/work
  • That the Lord would protect Kevin, keep him healthy, heal him that others will see what the Lord has done and glorify Him.
Thank you Lord for hearing our prayers, please continue to keep this young one in Your tender care.

That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works. Ps. 26:7
